Dickinson is a nationally recognized leader in global education, and through strategic partnerships with CET Academic Programs and the Institute for International Education, we are able to increase our reach and strengthen our impact.

CET Academic Programs

Dickinson is proud to partner with study-abroad provider CET Academic Programs to offer transformative pre-college opportunities for high school students. Across six locations – China, France, Italy, Japan, Spain and Washington, D.C. – students on CET Global Perspective programs explore how global issues impact local communities, examining topics such as inequality, environmental sustainability, and public health.

Participants earn Dickinson College credit in a course co-designed by Dickinson and CET with engaging academics and out-of-classroom activities, including guest lectures, site visits and 15-20 hours of language instruction abroad or career exploration in Washington, D.C. In each country, CET Global Perspective participants immerse in the local community by living in homestays or on a college campus, and through meaningful excursions that introduce them to the history, culture and daily life of their host city.

More details about the program, including the application process, scholarships, and CET’s COVID-related plans, can be found here: cetacademicprograms.com/high-school. A copy of the CET catalog is available for download.

In addition, Dickinson offers a full-tuition scholarship annually—the Dickinson-CET Global Leaders Scholarship—to a student who has completed a CET program and is offered admission to Dickinson.

Institute for International Education

Dickinson and the Institute of International Education have partnered to provide training opportunities for practitioners, scholars and learners that go beyond cultural awareness education and instead reimagine an international education framework that incorporates global, intercultural and equity inclusion lenses.

To kick off the partnership, Dickinson and IIE developed and ran three Moving from Inclusivity Talk to Equity in Action in International Education Leadership workshops to provide much-needed?training?opportunities that explore the intersection between intercultural and global learning and diversity, equity and inclusion—work that has been traditionally siloed. The 2021 workshops reached over 200 participants representing 80+ institutions and five countries. Additional workshops and programs are in the works.
